Website Terms & Conditions
Version 1.0
These Terms govern use of psychologylaine.com.au and the information, resources, products and services made available through it. By using the website, you agree to these Terms. Additional terms may apply if you become a psychology client, enter supervision or consultation, register for training, or purchase a product.
1. About Psychology Laine
Psychology Laine is an Australian psychology practice based in Victoria. The website may provide information about psychological services, professional supervision and consultation, psychoeducation, training, webinars, free resources and paid digital products.
2. General information only
Website content is general information and psychoeducation. It is not individual psychological, medical, legal or other professional advice and does not replace assessment or treatment by an appropriately qualified professional. Information about a condition or treatment does not mean that it applies to you, and Psychology Laine does not guarantee any particular outcome.
3. No therapeutic or supervisory relationship from website use
A psychologist-client or supervisor-supervisee relationship is not created merely because you visit the website, submit an enquiry, download a resource, subscribe to emails, attend general education or purchase a general resource. A professional relationship begins only when Psychology Laine has agreed to provide that service and the relevant consent or service arrangements are in place.
4. Crisis and emergency use
The website, enquiry forms, email and social media are not crisis services and are not continuously monitored. Do not use them for urgent mental health assistance. If there is an immediate risk to life or safety, call 000 or attend the nearest emergency department.
5. Enquiries and appointment requests
Submitting an enquiry or appointment request does not guarantee availability or establish a therapeutic relationship. Please avoid entering detailed or highly sensitive clinical information into a general website form unless requested. Information submitted through forms is handled under the Website Privacy Policy.
6. Professional and clinician-facing content
Content intended for psychologists, therapists, students or other professionals is educational unless expressly stated otherwise. It does not constitute individual supervision, consultation, legal or regulatory advice. Professionals remain responsible for their own judgement, competence and professional obligations.
7. Free and paid resources
Psychology Laine may offer free and paid worksheets, guides, templates, training materials, webinars and other educational products. Unless stated otherwise, these are for personal use or the purchaser's own individual professional use and do not establish a therapeutic or supervisory relationship.
Purchase grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the material as described. You must not resell, publicly upload, distribute to other professionals, materially reproduce for commercial use, remove branding or present Psychology Laine material as your own unless permission has been given.
8. Training and webinars
Additional terms may apply to webinars, workshops, courses and other educational programs, including payment, cancellations, recordings, access periods, intellectual property and continuing professional development. Unless expressly stated, participation does not create formal certification or authorise practice outside a participant's existing scope.
9. Prices, payments and refunds
Prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. GST will be identified where applicable. Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Psychology Laine does not ordinarily receive or store a purchaser's complete card number where an external secure payment processor is used.
Refunds and remedies are provided in accordance with any product-specific terms and applicable Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Email subscriptions
You may choose to receive Psychology Laine emails containing psychoeducation, resources, practice updates, training opportunities and information about products or services. Subscription is voluntary and may be cancelled at any time using the unsubscribe link. Making a therapy enquiry or purchase does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, original website content, branding, text, graphics, downloads, worksheets, videos, presentations and educational materials are owned by or licensed to Psychology Laine and protected by intellectual-property law. They may not be reproduced, distributed or commercially exploited without permission except as expressly allowed.
12. Third-party links and services
The website may link to external platforms or services. Psychology Laine does not control and is not responsible for their content, security, availability, privacy practices or terms. A link does not necessarily amount to endorsement.
13. Website accuracy and availability
Psychology Laine takes reasonable care with website content but cannot guarantee that all information will always be complete, current or error-free. Psychology, law, professional standards, funding rules and services can change. Website content may be updated or removed without notice.
14. Acceptable use
You must not use the website unlawfully, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with security or functionality, transmit malicious software, impersonate another person, infringe intellectual property or systematically copy website content without permission.
15. Cookies and Analytics
The Psychology Laine website may use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, security, preferences, analytics and, where implemented, marketing. Further information about the types of cookies and tracking technologies used, the information they may collect, and how Psychology Laine manages that information is available in the Psychology Laine Website Privacy Policy.
Where required or appropriate, visitors may be given choices about non-essential cookies through a cookie banner or preference tool. Disabling some cookies may affect website functionality.
16. Privacy and professional standards
Personal information is handled under the Psychology Laine Website Privacy Policy. If you become a psychology client, the Clinical Privacy Policy also applies to relevant clinical information. Psychology Laine aims to present services and professional information consistently with applicable Australian professional and advertising requirements.
17. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria and applicable Commonwealth Australian law.
